Inside the Cottage

Hi, Just thought I would show a few pictures of the changes I have made Inside this Season...

Yes, Can you believe....this little Canned Ham has been to Alaska and back? This IS The ORIGINAL Travel Sticker placed there on the side of the Cabinet about 45 years ago....

Left Side ...

Right Side...My Blue Bird Mascot sits on some books on the left, I had to have it, looks just like the one I have in my logo, I found the bird, After my logo was made

Cowgirl Boot with Faux WildFlowers (so that I am not tempted to pick the flowers at my State Park...that's a No, No...) Oh, and a Birdy

Here is the "Revised" version of my little dining area...
I purchased the black and white checked gingham yardage ( 5 yards ) at Salvation Army @ $4.00 I just couldn't pass it up. I like it better than the all White Vintage Bedspread I used last year...I think it gives it a more coordinated, put together kind of feel...what do you think?

I can't bear to cut any of these beautiful pieces of fabric, the table cloth fabric is a gift of a yard of fabric from a wonderful gal / designer named Jennifer Pagnelli. She Gifted me this fabric to me last year when I had just finished my trailer. I was So Surprised and honored by her Generosity! I plan on using more of her lovely fabric very soon.
The matching pillow to the table cloth fabric is sewn with the trim from the leftover curtain fabric, but the floral cotton tea towel pillow, is folded over a pillow insert, and pinned using a safety pin...I just couldn't bear to cut it :D, and the yellow fabric as well, it is simply folded over the pillow and pinned in place. Oh, and I guess I am a little Lazy with my Sewing too "D but, that way, I can change my mind ( I do this quite often) and use the fabric for something else...See, I have it all figured out "D

Instead of This:

Saying goodbye for now...until next time,

It's Good To Be Safe At Home!

"There's nothing half so pleasant as coming home again.” Mary Elizebeth Sangster

"When you're safe at home you wish you were having an adventure; when you're having an adventure you wish you were safe at home” Thornton Wilder

Let me start by saying HELLO and Thanx! to all you gals that have sent encouraging words throughout my " Hit or Miss" blogging.
I really didn't mean to, I just never seemed to make the time to do it! How'z that for the truth ;D! That's Me , being Christine... I'm like that...:D...
But now that summer has officially wound down,; Labor Day has come and gone, Kids and my " College Kids" are back to school, and things seem to take on a slower pace, I have begun to miss blogging itself, and all you wonderful gals who seem to have it all organized, from their Day Jobs, selling on Etsy, Crafting, running a household , taking time for themselves and their families, and still keep up on their blogs! Phew, my hats So Off to you! Tell me your Secrets!
Through this world of blogging, I have found that I am not as Organized as I thought! :D
That's ok for me, but, I really don't ever want to hurt any ones feelings by just going away....and that I did :D, Sometimes it takes work to being a friend, not in a bad way...but, others feelings are very important to me, and I do feel bad for not keeping in touch, I did'nt realize how many friends I had til I dropped off for a while ;D, I So Very Much Appreciate All Your Good Wishes and Heartfelt Words!

Well , I'm back, If you'll have me...:D, I Hope I can pass on some Fun and a Smile to all you gals out there that think my blog was worth a visit!

Thanx Bunches!

A Bundle of Hugs and a Bushel of Smiles to you All!

Christine

Route 66 ~ A Road Trip Through The Past ~

Almost Done! I Promise, I will be posting my "Big Reveal" very soon!

Until then, I'm planning my first trip...

The Mother Road - Route 66

Have you ever made this trip? Do you have any stories or tips you can give me?

This is the video that made me cry! Yes, I am totally corny, and unfortunately, because my kids aren't kids anymore, I seemed to have missed this wonderful Pixar movie! The story is based around the vehicles and buildings of the old route 66. I'm going out to rent it today. Is says so much about the times we're livin in doesn't it?

Ugly Bondo Pics

Hi! Not too much to show right now....but here is the Pre-Painting "Ugly" photos from this past weekend. Hey, at least the bondo looks pink in the photos ;) My husband didn't get to the paint yet, it was too cold to continue with it, but next week...we begin with the pretty color! Yeahhhh!!!:D I'm jumping up and down right now, ugh , Oh :O...I forgot, I'm in the library!

I worked on the cupboard doors, with fabric fronts, I started with red and white check, I think that will go on the bottom drawers under the seats.

I'm busy with gardening and candles right now so I have plenty to keep myself busy with til then. And then, I can visit you all more often!:D Yeahhhh! Again...Ugh..Oh! Shhhhhh! ;D

My computer will be back in a week or so...hopefully. So meanwhile, It will be hit or miss for me on my posts....:( so bear with me please...I'm not done yet :)

Thanx for coming back by to visit!

Busy Week ~ Thrifting and Crafting ~ Home & Blog Neglect!

~~~ Bewitched ~~~
When I was growing up in the late sixties, early seventies, The Show Bewitched was my Idea of the Perfect Housewife!:D I know that sounds crazy, but I loved her Home the way she always had breakfast and dinner always prepared for Darin , (loved David York's version of the character the best!) :D Through her own hand or by magic, It just was how I wanted my home to look, and that lifestyle was what I wanted to have for myself and my family. Well, let's just say, it doesn't always look like that around here!;D
In Case you were wondering where I went, I have been So busy this week with my "Tiny" Giveaway, and of course, taking a lot of breaks for Thrifting I have neglecting my little Blog!:(
I Hope someone is still hanging on out there ;D! For those of you who are:
My Trailer Update is that we cut-out and laid the sisal tile but I have decided that this will not be a permanent floor, but something that can come-up to clean. (we won't be gluing or nailing it) I think this will work out for cleaning purposes and I actually love the original floor which is beige pink with specs of yellow and aqua throughout, and is in pretty good condition with the exception of the door area. So this will be a good fix.
I have ordered several replacement parts, such as the two large red break light covers for back , and two yellow side light covers. Door Handle w/lock.
My Husband says he will start painting 2nd week of May...cross your fingers..If I can just keep him motivated, I'm shooting for the big reveal first week of June!
Meanwhile, Instead of doing housework this week, ;D, I have been Crafting, and Thrifting, and scheming of additions to my Blog. I have decided to add a sidebar item while I wait for something new to show on my trailer. Home & Garden , I will blog whenever I'm not thrifting or crafting, or doing housework ;D, I will blog about my Not So Spic and Span Home, remember, "Clean enough to be Healthy , But Dirty enough to be Happy!" That's My Motto! I am easy on Myself , and my family about the Home chores, but, unfortunately we will not pass the white glove test! Oh Well! ;D
BlueBirds of Happiness in My Home!
These are made by me from sculpting paper mache'
I've Updated My Shelf for Spring!
HERE IS THE LATEST!
What Color Do You Think I Picked for the bottom half of my Tiny Trailer?
I will be having a Drawing towards the End of my Final Reveal on my Tiny Trailer for a
" Tiny" Prize ~ Of Course!
Here is another purchase for my tiny little home on wheels!
I will put this on the floor in front of my kitchen sink counter area, It has just about every color I have in mind for my little trailer!
A HandHooked Rug, not sure if it's vintage, but It sure is A~dorable!
On that Note: I have changed my mind on the flooring, at least I think I have, I bought Sisal tiles at Ikea as couple of weeks ago. I think there a nice match to all the birch wood walls, I think it will will warm-up the floor on chilly mornings. And a bonus, they are removable if any need to be cleaned or replaced. Although, they still have to be installed, I have tried to cut one myself , and I guess this is one of those projects better left for my husband, at least the cutting part. :( the measuring went ok, but, all I had was a hand saw and a miter box, that didn't work to well, a little jaggedy...he said I better quit before I lost anymore of the tiles...:() uh, oh! ) He said he would cut them with the electric hand saw. Thanx Hun!
He's kind of busy with the Electricals right now...
Here is his latest progress this past Weekend...my poor husband, pulled his hair out on this one....had to rewire whole trailer, added plugs throughout....well , it's a tiny space, but I was amazed at how many outlets we need!
Here is an outlet above the dining table in the back of the trailer
I found a little Chandelire he will rewire to a plug in type (so that I can put it away each time we travel)
I'm thinking of painting the metal out white..with a little red/ brown/rusty patina showing through
This will hang by a covered chain over the table of the trailer,
A ~ dorable!
Here is the original table which came with a yellow plywood top, It has a gauge or hole on one area, so I would like to glue down a piece of Oil Cloth, checkered or floral, over the top, I am looking around for some right now. Any other suggestions on this one? :)
The sliding doors panel/covers on the storage areas below both side of the seats and above the kitchen area will be done in the same or coordinating oil cloth, then some glass knobs added for a little Sparkle!
These don't look like much now...infact, they are just pieces of thick foam I cut today that I am covering with batting and cordinating fabric , these will go inside end to end in the scallopped area in the back of the trailer, (foramally where the canvas sling bed was stored) so that I can have a flat surface to set all my knick knacks on! You'll have to trust me on this one. I will have pics of this next time you visit!
Its a little hard to see the scallop top , but the foam will sit Inside, to bring up a level flat surface for knick knacks
I will leave you until next time with a few of the cuties I might put on this shelf area
Maybe these Best Friend Farm Girls...they remind of the Farm Chick Gals!
Maybe this truck...if it fits...not sure on this one
I have to add this one, a Tool Kit for the Bride to Be!
A Cook Book...gota be an expert! ....Duz laundry Detrergent...gotta gettum clean! A Broom...gotta sweep the crumbs!...an Iron (can't see it too well) but, you gotta steam out those wrinkeles...frying pan complete with eggs...you gotta keep em fed!...a red handled rolling pin...you gotta keep em in line! ;) giggle... just wanted to see if you were paying attention!
A~dorable!
Until the next time! Keep on Smiling!
